PNW day 3

Day 3rd of the Pacific Northwest.

Today we took our rental car and drove three hours to Portland, Oregon.

We arrived into Pearl District in downtown Portland.

We got lunch at a burger joint called Tilted. The interior design is pretty neat, and it looks very industrial, like the old industrial days.
^^My burger^^
Afterwards, we took a detour and went to Japanese Tea Gardens and Rose Gardens (about a mile drive away).
^^A scene from the Japanese Tea Gardens^^

We drove back to downtown and drove to an outdoor shopping mall, called Pioneer Place. They have lots of mainstream shops and H&M, Apple, etc.

Voodoo Donuts and Slumptown Roastery were also a short walking distance away as well.

^^cold brew - such a nice refreshing drink on a hot summer day!^^

^^Interior design of Slumptown^^

^^20 minute wait in the sun for a dozen donuts from Voodoo^^
P.S. Voodoo donuts weren't that great tasting in my opinion. They were novelty I guess, but they mostly taste the same. (They add toppings like Captain's Crunch, Oreos on a regular donut.)

Our hotel is in Hillsboro, OR, which is about 30 minute drive from downtown Portland. It is basically a suburban town that looks pretty new. There isn't much to do there. We walked around the nearby shopping outlet and it was pretty quiet there. It was on a Saturday afternoon too. Maybe one day Hillsboro will have more development in the future...

^^The hotel had moustache coffee cups!^^

^^Bambuku Vietnamese cuisine nearby our hotel^^
